News: Calling all reviewers and Podcasters!

News: Calling all Reviewers and Podcasters!
by Ted Mc from BlindMind.net, 24 Mar 2010
Not that I get tired of the sound of my own voice, as anyone will tell you, but we'd love to have some diversity here at BlindMind.net.
I do my best to source a wide variety of tech news, some general, some forcused on mobile phones, some on PC, browsers, and internet technology, and much of the time directly related to the blind and visually impaired. But one person can only do so much scouring, writing, and recording. I'd love the site to become much more content-rich, and from the perspective of someone other than just yours truly.
This is not meant to take away from the pool of dedicated users who submit content to other sites. Quite the contrary. I think all the blind technology sites have their own flavour, personality, and dedicated readers. A bit of cross-site promotion and sharing of talent will only increase the exposure of the material as a whole, similar to how we currently share and copy each others article links already.
So here's the call out to anyone who's interested, that BlindMind is seeking written or recorded reviews on hardware, software, experiences, advocacy issues, the table is pretty wide open. Articles should be written in MS Word 2003 or earlier, or else saved into a non-version specific format such as RTF. To send a written submission, Email BlindMind — or even easier, go to the main website and use one of the handy "Submit" links under the Participate menu option, and paste your written content directly into the multi-line text box supplied. Be sure and include your own personal details so we can give you credit.
If you're an experienced or budding podcaster and prefer to submit a recorded demonstration of something, eamil that same address and I'll organize to get the material and arrange publishing.
Don't keep your talent hidden. Take on the responsibility of sharing youru knowledge with others. What good is it to be technically gifted at something, or come across a great gem of a discovery in the way of software or hardware or something else, and then not tell people? That's just plain selfish! <grin>
I'm sure we can organize some Symbian application licenses with a couple of the Software Developer friends of this site as giveaways in the future, but I'd hope you'd do it for the sake of enlightening your fellow users out of the goodness of your heart, and for the sheer fun of doing so. That's what the site is all about.
Otherwise, you'll just have to keep putting up with only *my* ranting, and no one wants that!
