News: Accessible Kindle becomes significantly more affordable
from Media Access Australia
Amazon has significantly dropped the price of its Kindle e-book reader to US$189 (AU$218), improving the affordability of the accessible e-book reader.
Facing
increased
competition from other e-book products such as the Nook and the Kobo,
along
with more generalist devices like the iPad, Amazon has dropped the
price
of its entry-level Kindle by US$60 (AU$70). This not only makes
it one of the
most affordable e-book readers on the market, but
easily the most accessible
around this price point...

I saw the link regarding the publisher protests in the U.S. and I have ask ask this: if I, as a blind person, purchase a title, only to have the publisher "turn off" text-to-speech on a whim, doesn't this constitute fraud or theft? it certainly violates the law in a lot of other places.
