Victorian Electoral Commission
The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) conducts Victorian State elections, local council elections, certain statutory elections, and commercial and community elections. Blind and low vision electors will be able to cast a secret and independent vote during the early voting period (15 November – 26 November) using Electronically Assisted Voting or Braille ballot papers.

It is smaller, lighter and more powerful than its predecessor, the IDmate OMNI. The IDmate Summit is a portable “all-in-one” talking bar code scanner that aids visually or print impaired individuals with the identification of items via the product’s bar code. Using text-to-speech and digital voice recording technologies, it allows users to access an on-board database of over 2 million product descriptions, along with a tailored set of recorded voice messages. With IDmate Summit, the user can quickly add additional voice recorded information to existing products or to items not found in the database.
