Visual Independence
Greetings from Visual Independence, the IDmate talking barcode scanner charity! At Vision Australia’s Texpo, we will be demonstrating the new model IDmate Summit. It is smaller, lighter and more powerful than its predecessor, the IDmate OMNI. The IDmate Summit is a portable “all-in-one” talking bar code scanner that aids visually or print impaired individuals with the identification of items via the product’s bar code. Using text-to-speech and digital voice recording technologies, it allows users to access an on-board database of over 2 million product descriptions, along with a tailored set of recorded voice messages. With IDmate Summit, the user can quickly add additional voice recorded information to existing products or to items not found in the database. Additional adhesive, tag, and clothing labels can be placed on nearly anything. So come and visit the Visual Independence display and see what it is all about!
